No matter how much we all may be hurt by an economic downturn, the disadvantaged are damaged far more and have less opportunity to
recover. There are many ways that your contribution can benefit people with a intellectual disability. For example, we have programs
that are always in need of support including:
Education: Supplies
Independent Living Training: Instruction in household activities,
handling finances, etc.
Job training and employment supports.
Music: Classes, Instruments, event admissions; special guests
Art Classes:
Supplies; special guests; trips to art exhibits
Cultural awareness: trips; events; exposure to a variety of artwork, music and knowledge
of other cultures; special guests.
Community participation: including Meals on Wheels, off campus classes, recycling; visiting recreational
areas; shopping; Church participation; community volunteer work; camps and many more.
Community Events: such as the annual prom; talent
shows; Special Olympics; dances, seasonal parties, festivals.
Basic Living Expenses: There is an ongoing need for a Consumer Benevolence
fund to assist Service Recipients who are financially unable to pay basic bills like rent, utilities and groceries.
Bradley/Cleveland
Yard Resale Festival: Held annually on the grounds at the Life Bridges main site (764 Old Chattanooga Pike, SW, Cleveland,
TN 37311). All proceeds go directly to the needs of the Service Recipients.
